4 year old postcard- Background
The Adelaide Hills Division of General Practice (AHDGP) in collaboration with the Adelaide Hills Council, Mount Barker and Districts Council sought and was granted funding from the Immunisation Services, the Department of Health, South Australia, in early 2009.
With this funding a postcard was developed specifically directed at the 4 year Immunisation age group, as the Federal Government changed the overdue rule from a 4 year old being overdue on their 5th Birthday to being overdue at 4 years and 1 month.
The 4 year old postcard developed, is pictured below.

In March 2009, the 4 year old Immunisation Postcards were distributed to all General Practices (with postage) within our Division and to the Adelaide Hills Council and the Mt Barker and Districts Council (without postage).
The Adelaide Hills Division of General Practice initially provided each General Practice with 20 postcards including postage to utilise. Evaluation was undertaken and positive feedback received from the General Practices. General Practice utilised the postcards for recalls and reminders of 4 year old children overdue or due for their Immunisations.
The AHDGP have been able to provide more postcards to Practices when requested but not with postage, but we have now exhausted supplies of the 4 year old postcards.
The Councils utilised the postcards in different ways. Adelaide Hills Council provided the Kindergartens in their area with the postcards to give Parents and had requests for more. Whereas the Mt Barker and Districts Council completed a data search for 4 year old children in their area, and sent the postcards to these children.
